For as long as I can remember, I have loved conversation. However, it never occurred to me that I would some day be able to share this love with the world, but then podcasting came along. I listened to my first podcast in 2016, and it was then that I knew I had to start one of my own.
Through my many conversations over the years with people from all over the world, I have learned more about life and what it means to be a human than I ever thought possible. I have also come to realize just how unique my perspective is. I am both black and white. I have served in the military where I worked as Law Enforcement. I've been poor and I have had more money than I need. I grew up very Conservative and religious and I now view myself as more Libertarian and non-religious.
I have seen both sides of so many issues and this has shown me that there is such tremendous value in learning someone else's perspective. Broadening your view will, without a doubt, changes you for the better. I hope to encourage people to engage more in conversation, not to force your view on someone, but to listen. Take in the information and learn something new. Due to the nature of our relationship with media (social and news), we are becoming increasingly incapable of doing this. While I do think that this media is important and a necessary step in us moving forward, it cannot exist in it's current form without an appropriate counterbalance. I believe that long-form discussion platforms are that counterbalance.
